Composer: Kris Gilbert

Kris Gilbert received her M.M. in Composition from Binghamton University and her B.Mus.Ed from the Crane School of Music at SUNY-Potsdam. She teaches high school concert band, marching band, jazz ensemble, music theory, music technology, lessons and 6th grade general music at Whitney Point High School in Whitney Point, New York. Kris is also a music director at the Endicott Performing Arts Center where she has performed over 42 musicals and shows both as a music director and pit musician. Kris regularly performs as a pit musician at the Cider Mill playhouse as well. Her love of composition stems from having to write meaningful, thoughtful compositions for her students and hopes that her compositions can bring the enjoyment of performing it to others.
