Ballet from Orfee et Eurydice is an enchanting masterpiece. Composed by early-Classical composer Christoph Willibald Gluck, its haunting melody reflects on the tragic Greek myth of Orpheus and his failed attempt to bring his wife Eurydice back from the dead. The slow, lyrical arrangement for one piano, four hands, requires careful balance between the primo and secondo parts, as well as delicate choreography between the players' hands. The duo of Anderson and Roe have taken audiences by storm and are perhaps the most exciting young piano duo performing today. They have included performance notes and tips for easier comprehension of the arrangement.

Sweep them off their feet with this driving, syncopated duet for two pianists. Written in D Minor for one piano four hands, Brazilian Nights is extremely accessible to intermediate level pianists. Changes in meter from 4/4 to 3/4 and back add rhythmic variety and interest. Five pages per part, ten pages total.

Description: The Buckeye Blues and Boogie was commissioned by the All Ohio Piano Ensemble for the early advanced group of piano students. I have attempted to compose a composition using elements of the blues and boogie style that will challenge and motivate the piano student. Purpose: The purpose of this duet is to stimulate interest and develop skill in practicing and performing music that is inherently American. Born through a conflict of Western tonality and the folk song of the African slave, this juxtaposition evokes a quality of sound known as jazz. Suggestions for Instruction: Be sure to have students use the metronome when practicing. Encourage students to count as they practice the syncopated rhythms and broken triplet figures at the end. Slow practice is highly recommended to achieve confidence and security. Balance is very important in ensemble playing. Encourage the students to listen and determine which part(s) need to be given priority. The lazy swing rhythm enhances the bluesy sound of the melody. If the students have a problem, have them subdivide the quarter note in three. The grace notes are treated like acciaccatura. Key: C Major 16 p.

Basic Library
Dedicated to Victor Borge and in the style of his parodies at the piano, this piece for one piano, four hands is a lot of fun to play. C. S. stands for "Chop Sticks," the theme upon which the entire piece is based. Primo and secondo change positions in the middle of the piece, as the secondo player ascends all the way up the keyboard. A sure hit with audiences, C. S. Theme and Variations will lighten up any concert and makes a great encore.

Pachelbel's Canon in Dis written for one piano, four hands. This piece is a rewarding experience for both players involved, and is written at the late intermediate level. Enjoy!
