FRESNO, CALIFORNIA — February 21-24, 2013 — J. W. Pepper is providing music and sponsoring clinicians for the revolutionary California All-State Music Education Conference (CASMEC). The convention takes place February 21-24 at the Fresno Convention Center.  J.W. Pepper is aiding the unification of the California Band Directors Association (CBDA), California Music Educators Association (CMEA), California Orchestra Directors Association (CODA), California Alliance for Jazz (CAJ), and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). These organizations are joining forces to create a " super-conference" in which each organization will sponsor clinics, hold membership meetings, and showcase elite student musicians from across the state.  Every teacher or college music student in attendance will have access to all events while forging professional relationships with new colleagues from different music teaching idioms.

J.W. Pepper is playing an integral role in the conference, providing music for the Director's Reading Band, Orchestra and Choral Reading Sessions. While all the sessions promote newly published music, the band and choral reading sessions provide teachers a chance to play their instruments with friends and colleagues.  Additionally Dr. Peter Boonshaft, Hofstra University, will lead 2 clinics focusing on enhancing rehearsal preparation and ensemble development.  Dr. Boonshaft will sign his Teaching Musicbooks at the J.W. Pepper booth in the Exhibit Hall. Finally, it wouldn't be a conference without a party: J.W. Pepper invites attendees to the Directors' Social, February 22nd after the evening concert in the Saroyan Theater Lobby Lounge. Live music provided by Espacio.

Ryan Blauvelt, Regional Marketing Manager, J.W. Pepper-Northern California, is highly involved in the planning of the conference through his role as Industry Representative and CASMEC Social Media Community Manager on the CBDA Board of Directors.
