DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA — February 17-20, 2011 — J. W. Pepper is providing music and sponsoring clinicians for the first-of-its-kind California All-State Music Education Conference. The convention takes place February 17-20 at the Fresno Radisson Hotel and Convention Center.  J.W. Pepper is aiding the unification of the California Band Directors Association (CBDA), California Association for Music Education (CMEA), California Orchestra Directors Association (CODA) and California Alliance for Jazz (CAJ). These organizations are joining forces to create a "super-conference" in which each organization will sponsor clinics and hold membership meetings.  Every teacher or college music student in attendance will have access to every event, fostering relationships between different disciplines and increasing opportunities to network with music teacher colleagues from across the state.

J.W. Pepper is playing an integral role in the conference, providing music for the Director's Band and Conductor's Strings reading sessions.  These sessions promote newly published music while providing teachers a chance to play their instruments with friends and colleagues. All eight of the performing student honor groups are playing music on loan from Pepper's inventory.  Additionally Dr. Shelley Jagow of Wright State University will be leading two clinics focusing on enhancing rehearsal preparation and ensemble development.  Finally it wouldn't be a conference without a party; J.W. Pepper invites attendees to the Directors' Social, 10pm on February 18th in the Saroyan Theater Lobby Lounge.

Ryan Blauvelt, Regional Marketing Manager for the Northern California J.W. Pepper is highly involved in the planning of the conference through his role as Industry Representative on the CBDA Board of Directors.
