Sunday Evening Jazz

(Hymn Arrangements in a Jazz Style for Rhythm Section and Solo Wind Instruments)
arr. Mark Hayes & Tracy Icenogle - Lorenz Corporation
Perfect for your praise band or rhythm section, the ten hymns and gospel songs in Sunday Evening Jazz are in a variety of easy-listening jazz styles. Each arrangement features a specific solo wind instrument (sax, flute, flugelhorn or trumpet). Transposed parts for C, E-flat and B-flat melodic instruments are included. The melody line is passed between the piano, guitar and the solo wind instrument throughout each arrangement. The pianist is not the soloist, but part of the group. All parts include chord symbols. However, the drum/electric bass part has some transcribed passages, and the piano part is fully transcribed. The Accompaniment CD included with the Piano Book includes tracks of all instruments except the piano. The Accompaniment CD included with the score and parts includes tracks of all the instruments except the solo melodic part. Contents include: Day by Day; Faith Is the Victory; He Hideth My Soul; I Know Whom I Have Believed; Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence and more.
