This 1965 pop hit by the girl group "The Dixie Cups" has taken on a life of its own through its use in the soundtrack for "The Big Easy" and its popularity with many New Orleans performers.  It is frequently heard during Mardi Gras celebrations. The fun, chant-like melody and whimsical lyrics invoke the spirit of the song's Creole origin.
