For the followers of Jesus Christ, Holy Week is a week like no other in the church year. This dramatic cantata takes the listener from the high praise of Palm Sunday, through the anguish of the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane and the cross of Calvary, to the "Alleluias" of Easter morning. With familiar hymns, timeless folk melodies and newly composed music, it includes an instrumental prelude and six choral movements. Optional solos, narrators and chamber orchestra offer maximum flexibility in the presentation. In addition, the expression and accessibility of the choral score is superb among cantatas of its kind. Movements are: Behold the Lamb of God; Followers of the Lamb; At the Supper of the Lamb; There is a Garden; It is Finished and The Risen Lamb with Christ the Lord Is Risen Today.
