Forever Yesterday is a three movement ballet commissioned by, and written for the Boise Chamber Orchestra and Idaho Dance Theater. The work incorporates Native American songs and themes into three movements, "Earth," "Water," and "Sky". Each of these three movements is preceded by songs that set up that movement's theme and are sung by a soprano. The opening song, "First Daylight Song," intones a paraphrase from the Najavo Beauty Way Chant, and continues with excerpts from a collection called "Mountain Chant Of The Navajo."
