Regina Coeli
A cappella
Composed as a companion piece to Tomas Victoria's motet of the same title, this new setting, commissioned by England's ORA Singers, is fun, rhythmically driven, and has a few moments of vocal improvisation. The piece climaxes with a Russian-style chorale for the tenors and basses while simultaneously the treble voices imitate the sound of change-ringing bells.
