Composed to teach three essential and specific music and dance styles in the Carribbean music traditions: the Cuban "son," the Puerto Rican "Plena," and the Dominican "Merengue." Accompanied by piano, bass and Latin percussion all included in the score. The text is in English combined with Spanish Caribbean expressions. Movement suggestions to reflect the musical style along with teaching strategies are provided in the insightful performance notes.
