Happy Hoppy Bunny was composed in December 2018. This sprightly, joyous, and animated piece for flute solo with piano accompaniment is presented in compound duple time in the idyllic key of G major. The pedagogical target of Happy Hoppy Bunny is characterisation. Capturing the spirit and essence of the bunny is of the greatest importance to deliver a successful performance of this work. The composer strongly encourages the performer to embrace their inner bunny during the practice, rehearsal, and performance stages of their learning.
