Two African-American spirituals, Rise, Shine, for Thy Light Is A-Comin' and This Little Light of Mine, are combined in this solid setting. They work together beautifully! This is an excellent teaching piece, too; the performance notes give historical background on both tunes, and the arranger's notes describe his strategy in joining both tunes as a partner-song. Highly recommended!
