American Suite Op. 98
Publisher Desc.
This five movement work written while Dvorak was an instructor in New York, opens serenely with a melodic relaxing section. Inserted is an agitated section where one could envision the bustling New York City streets before returning to the opening melody. Movements 2 and 3 are exciting and challenging with a 4th that is very emotional and passionate. A feisty closing movement unites and concludes with a short reflection on the opening. Advanced level. Oversize full score.
