The Star-Spangled Banner

Extracted from Kile Smith's major work composed for Conspirare, this final movement is a poignant statement for choir and cello of our national anthem. Based on a version from Sarah Winnemucca's Paiute tradition, its unusual cadence and melody represent the beautiful unity between people of all colors being united together as one family.
