Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
Publisher Desc.
This beloved work by J. S. Bach is arranged here for Concert Band. It is
perfect for concerts and educational settings and can be used with the choral
edition (S0.1010811). For worship, this arrangement can be performed almost
any time since it exudes peace and joy, but it is particularly suited for
Advent and Christmas since it comes from Cantata 147, "Herz und Mund und
Tat und Leben" ("Heart and Mouth and Deeds and Life"), a
cantata about Mary, the mother of Jesus, visiting her cousin Elizabeth and
singing the Magnificat (see Luke 1:26-56). The Full Score is formatted for
legal-size paper (8.5x14) while the parts are formatted for letter-size paper
(8.5x11). Arrangements for Beginning/Early Intermediate Band (S0.1107459) and
Intermediate Band (S0.1112159) are also available. Both of those arrangements
have been transposed down to F major for beginning and intermediate players.
