Last Words

Seven evocative statements by Jesus are spread among the three synoptic gospel crucifixion stories and are collectively known as the seven last words of Christ. In this work, the text is set using a blend of English and Latin, designed to evoke a sense of timelessness. The original a cappella setting makes effective use of divisi and dissonance.
