Veni, Emmanuel!

This twist on the medieval French melody is a great way to introduce singers to compound meter, syncopation, and dissonance while working with a familiar melody. Alternating between the Latin and English texts, it is a cappella but for a simple djembe or drum accompaniment and the two-part version is flexible enough to be sung by any kind of two-part choir, either mixed, treble, or tenor-bass, with a little bit of divisi.
