The first three verses are in an antiphonal fashion between Tenor-Bass and Soprano-Alto with verses ending with cascading iEvermore and evermore!i exchange between parts. Verse 4 pays homage to the familiar 13th century plainsong with an underlining soft beautiful voicing in the accompaniment before returning to the original melody in verse 5. This setting also offers an optional cello part.
