The Hobbits Dance

The Hobbits Dance was inspired by a trip to Hobbiton which is near the town Matamata in New Zealand. I noticed that while visiting the Green Dragon Inn, there wasn't a lot of Hobbity music playing and I became inspired to create a piece. The Hobbits Dance is a chance for the concert band to reveal their inner Hobbit. Suggestions are; string some party flags on your music stand, wear a straw hat, tap your feet or whole leg along with the music, put on your favourite hobbit clothes or hairy feet. The percussion can also have some fun with "Jug Band" type percussion, which can include but not limited to, washboard, spoons, lagerphone, jugs, washtub bass or any other hobbity type instrument. They should ideally be placed in front of the concert band for this piece.
