Good King Wenceslas

James Mason Neal's 19th-century text tells the 10th-century tale of a King from Bohemia traveling through the snow on St. Stephen's Day. Paired with its traditional 13th-century melody, it then takes on a modern twist as it is arranged in a jazzy, swing-style 5/4 meter, similar to Take Five. The verse uses simple unison or two-part lines, and the jazzy four-part harmonies on the choruses are easy to learn.
