Faure's Pavane
Publisher Desc.
Faure's Pavane, Op. 50 of 1886 is one of his best-known compositions. It was, like some of his contemporary Debussy's music, originally composed for piano but later orchestrated by the composer, and today it is usually heard in that version. In this arrangement for string quartet, an alternate 3rd violin part is included to substitute for viola if that instrument is not available.
