Alleluia

Using "Alleluia" as the sole text, this piece takes the listener on a journey from a fanfare opening to a reflective middle and a triumphant end. Commissioned by the Orpheus Chamber Singers, this composition prize winner was inspired by Heinrich Schutz's Jauchzet dem Herren, alle Welt. Written for double choir, the modern writing includes imitation, a jubilant melody, and a driving ostinato. An impressive and exuberant number for advanced choirs!
