River Rising for Two Guitars and Chamber Orchestra

(duration: c. 10') From the first meandering trickles to the gushing, crashing waves overflowing its banks, River Rising takes us on a journey from a serene, placid environ to an unpredictable, perilous place. Originally conceived as a short piece for two guitars, there was a desire to expand the aural palette and take more time to develop the river, indeed, rising. The guitarists are quasi soloists at times, but also integral members of the chamber orchestra. They should be lightly amplified so as not to create balance issues.
