The spirited introductory prelude is engaging and dance-like, and themes from it come back in the interlude prior to the final stanza. The first hymn setting has a more conventional organ part with an active trumpet descant. A second setting features a subdued, slow-moving, and harmonically sophisticated accompaniment, and the final stanza setting pulls out the stops for a big finish and fanfare ending.
