On to Excellence!

Dedicated to the founder and President of Webber Academy, this piece is meant to capture the life and times of Dr. Neil Webber. Although his youth was spent working his family farm, he excelled in his academic pursuits earning multiple post-graduate degrees. After a very successful business career he went on to serve in Legislative Assembly in Alberta, later being appointed as the provincial cabinet as Minister of Community Health. Upon his retirement he founded Webber Academy. The piece opens with a fanfare which leads to music representing Dr. Webber's humble beginnings. As this heartfelt moment of the piece evolves it takes the listener through moments of sincerity, strength of spirit and pride, leading to a fast, rhythmic section that represents his successful life in business and politics. The opening fanfare returns providing a rousing conclusion.
