My Lord, What a Morning

This setting offers a new twist on an old favorite. The opening singing bell chord is evocative of the dawn, and a cascading motif throughout the piece represents "falling stars." The work features contrasting sections: a rhythmic, malleted passage evoking the call to "hear the trumpet sound" that "wakes the nations underground;" a delicate, twinkling line of malleted suspended bells with the melody carried in the bass; and a glorious Maestoso. This unique work offers great educational moments for festivals and is perfect for general worship, Matins, or Advent.
