At Fate's Door

Written for Grade 2.5 concert band, a dark narrative unfolds from a slow, mysterious opening into a driving vivace using percussion rim knocks to depict literal knocking and the release of an evil force. Repeated rhythmic motifs introduce simple syncopation while the melody remains accessible over driving rhythmic figures. Effective as a middle or high school program closer, this work reinforces rhythmic confidence and ensemble impact.
