Twilight Tango

Dark tango character shapes this Grade 2 band work, immersing students in syncopated rhythms and sharp articulations drawn from the tango style. Latin percussion – including claves, timbales, castanets, and many more – replaces traditional instruments to give the piece authentic color. Rhythmic patterns are typical for the style yet approachable by younger players. A strong choice for introducing tango style to middle school groups while building groove, coordination, and ensemble confidence.
