Communion Song

From the Honey from the Rock collection of entrance and communion antiphons, this antiphon is designated for the feast of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ and is appropriate for any liturgy in which the Eucharist is celebrated. The piece is set in a swinging 3/4 but can easily be felt as a slower 6/8. The recurring refrain is accessible to the choir or assembly, and the verses are straightforward. Simple improvisation is welcome and appropriate. The piece is intended to accompany the Eucharist and may be shortened or extended as needed.
