Cross Country

This concert band work traces a reflective and ultimately triumphant journey inspired by cross-country running. A hopeful euphonium solo opens the piece before rhythmic momentum takes hold, depicting the twists, challenges, and persistence of the race. The music returns to the opening theme in a bold collective statement to create a strong programmatic selection for high school players.
