Jigsaw

A collaborative concert band work presents its main theme in fragments spread across the ensemble, ensuring no single part reveals the complete musical idea on its own. Musical material is shared between and within sections, making every player essential to the final result. It's not until everything is played together that the musical "puzzle" reveals itself. Thoughtful cueing supports sections that traditionally have lighter scoring, ensuring directors will have success no matter what instrumentation is available.
