Aebersold for Everyone
Now everyone can get in on the fun of improvising! Peter Blair has taken eight of Jamey Aebersold's improvisation exercises, staples of jazz pedagogy throughout the world, and written complete jazz arrangements for flexible ensembles! This is a great collection to introduce students at the easy and medium-easy levels to important stylistic and improvisatory concepts, whether they play bari sax or viola! The charts are arranged in a four-part plus rhythm section format, so you can assign a player to one of two parts, allowing many options for performance. The charts are based on exercises from Jamey's books, Volume 1 (How To Play Jazz); Volume 24 (Major and Minor) and Volume 88 (Millennium Blues). The great thing about these charts is they are incredible for teaching, yet they sound so good! Your audience will think they're just hearing a super jazz tune! The Teacher's Guide is designed to assist teachers with little or no jazz improvisational skills and includes extensive rehearsal suggestions as well as a play-along CD for student use.
