"3 Short Pieces for Alto Clarinet" is my first venture into the world of instrumental solos with piano accompaniment. I chose the Alto Clarinet for three reasons: first, because there are far too few solos written for the instrument. Second, because I played it back in college at the University of Texas at Austin and enjoyed it thoroughly. And, finally, because the inspiration simply struck me to do it. There's not a whole lot to mention on this work. Just make sure you don't short-change the fermatas, and for the Alto Clarinet, try and be as lyrical as possible in the second movement without going overboard. Thank you for playing!
