This is nice! Mark's ethereal and dignified treatment of Franz Gruber's cherished carol overflows with artistically rendered choral and instrumental color. Scored for voices, winds, synthesizer and percussion, this setting evokes the images of the stable in Bethlehem and the wonder of men and angels who attended the holy birth. The music is particularly moving as the choir sings "Glories stream from heaven afar," and the setting moves to a hushed cadence as it gently draws to a close. Reverent and intimate, this is everything you'd expect from Mark Hayes, and we award it our highest recommendation!
