Alfred's Music for Little Mozarts

Join Mozart Mouse, Beethoven Bear and their music friends as they learn about music. Follow their adventures from the Play Room and the Music Room to their Piano Lessons, their Music Class at school, the Talent Show and a Trip to the City. Written to provide appropriate piano instruction for 4-, 5-, and 6-year-olds, this series is a comprehensive approach to musical learning that develops singing and listening skills simultaneously with an appreciation for a variety of musical styles. The materials in the course combine to create an exciting and imaginative atmosphere both in the lesson and at home. Book 1 gives children a carefully paced orientation to the keyboard: low and high sounds, up and down the keyboard, and an equally careful presentation of groups of two and three black keys, left and right hands, and finger numbers. White key letter names are gradually introduced with letter names in note-heads. Children generally play one repeated note or two note melodies in one hand only per piece and learn the first three notes of middle C position for each hand by the end of the book. The Starter Set includes a vinyl bag printed with the name of the course, a music activity board (magnetic and dry erase), and two stuffed animals, Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse.
