6-Note Root Beer Float

Performance Notes 6-Note Root Beer Float is intended for first year bands. It should be performed in march style at a tempo deemed suitable by the director. Bands which are capable of faster tempos, may play the piece in polka style. The main tune (which "says" the title) will first be played by the upper winds and then at measure 21 by the lower winds. At measure 33 low winds and upper winds will alternate the 2nd melody in contrasting dynamics. A brief percussion interlude at measure 40 will give the winds a rest before the final reprise and coda.
