A Celtic Chorale

Three Celtic folk songs and two Celtic sacred hymns are beautifully woven together in this stunning band arrangement. All five melodies are composed in a unique way to show off your band. These traditional songs may be different topically and lyrically, but have ubiquitous themes and emotional desires, despite some secular and sacred differences. The five different Celtic tunes display a painful yet beautiful emotional journey through the five well-known tunes of "Be Thou My Vision," "Come Thou Fount," "Danny Boy," "Loch Lomond," and "Auld Lang Syne." Some melodies are concurrent while others are separate, but all compliment each other through their various highs and lows. Joshua Shoemaker's "A Celtic Chorale" features the right amount of challenge in order to bring beauty to these well-known tunes. There are distinct brass chorales and woodwind chorales, with many opportunities to show off your best soloists, both brass and woodwinds. The percussion is not left out either, as multitude of percussion effects amplify the emotional longings of these Celtic tunes. The entire band will be able to shed new light on these beloved Celtic melodies.
