A Gruene Portrait

The composer was inspired to write this work after frequent visits to Gruene, Texas. Located in the Hill Country, this town is a popular tourist attraction. The Guadalupe River runs through the town where you can see people enjoying tubing. Other activities such as wine tasting, listening to music and going to the local dance hall are experienced. I was influenced by the peaceful scenery that we experience when staying at one of their bed and breakfast retreats. This is represented in the slow themes of this piece. Listening to outdoor music artists and going to the dance hall are represented in the faster section. it is important to following the suggestive tempos and articulations.
