Aki - Vocalise for Soprano and PianoDaniel Carr - Daniel Timothy Carr
Publisher Desc. "Aki - Vocalise for Soprano and Piano" Opus 4 was given its name by my wife Yumi. It means autumn in Japanese. She heard in the piece feelings of loneliness and also nostalgia for autumn in Japan, an appropriate description of what I wanted to express in the work. The fragile vocalise, a wordless melody, has two main themes: a simple plaintive melody depicting solitude and a second melody which is more ominous in nature.
