Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course
Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course, German edition, is designed for the German-speaking adult beginner who wishes to quickly learn to play the piano. It is also for adults who prefer a chord approach. It teaches chords for both hands so that the student can play more than single note melodies. Included are familiar songs such as The Entertainer, Scarborough Fair, Greensleeves, and Amazing Grace. Students begin playing from the staff almost immediately with the Level One book, starting in C Major position and progressing to G and middle C positions. They are given the opportunity to expand their range beyond a fifth as they learn sixths, sevenths and octaves. Scales and chords are taught systematically as the keys of C, G, and F Major and C and D Minor are introduced. The Level Two book begins with an extensive review of the chords and keys previously studied in Level One, using fresh and interesting pieces that will provide enjoyment as well as reinforcement. The keys of D, Bb, and Eb Major and E and G Minor are introduced. Particularly noteworthy is the systematic presentation of chords in all positions in both hands. Level Three begins with a review of the concepts presented in Level Two, then introduces new pieces and lessons in new keys (A and Eb Major; F#, C# and C Minor) to prepare the student for more advanced studies. Includes "Just for Fun" and "Ambitious Selections" sections with fun, appealing, and challenging repertoire for the intermediate-level adult student.
