Alfred's Group Piano for Adults
This highly flexible curriculum is for non-keyboard music majors with little or no prior keyboard experience. It may also be used successfully by non-music majors or independent teachers seeking creative ways to develop functional skills in their adult students. It is the first General MIDI class piano package available with over 500 entertaining and sophisticated accompaniments on 14 different CDs (Book 1-Second Edition) or 15 different CDs (Book 2). 14 or 15 different Standard MIDI File Disks are also available per book - designed to support and enhance the exercises and melodies. Book 1, Second Edition, now has 26 units, additional repertoire, scales and arpeggios introduced in groups, playing by ear training, additional harmonization examples and additional sight-reading examples. Book 2 includes 30 units, each to be covered in one week, thus filling two semesters of study. The reading approach is eclectic, combining the best elements of intervallic and multi-key reading. With its self-directed study and clear goals, students quickly develop efficient keyboard skills. Each "Teacher's Handbook" serves as an aid in curriculum development and daily lesson planning. It also suggests ways to successfully integrate keyboard and computer technology into the curriculum.
