Book 4 slowly and carefully phases the student to playing in G Major position and introduces staccato, legato, flats, sharps, and harmonic seconds, thirds, fourths and fifths. At the end of the level, children are ready to progress to Alfred's Prep Course for the Young Beginner, Level C, or enter any series at the elementary level.
