Along the Mississippi

Along the Mississippi is a late-intermediate recital suite. The first movement is entitled Swiftly Flowing River and uses delicate melodic lines in the right hand and a beautiful flowing accompaniment in the left hand. The second movement is entitled Stride Through St. Louis and is a playful swinging jazz tune. The third movement, entitled Tribute to Mark Twain, is an expressive waltz. The fourth movement is entitled View of the Delta Queen,and is as exquisite and grand as the steamboat it was written about.
