A phenomenal addition to the repertoire of upper level bands!  In this multi-dimensional composition based on familiar American themes, Fletcher makes reference to Amazing Grace; Shenandoah; Red River Valley and America, yet by no means is this a predictable medley.  Snippets of the themes float freely in rhythm and meter and often coincide as if their meeting is a fortunate accident.  The layering of textures is noteworthy. The selection is at once patriotic, pleasing to the ears and completely interesting.
