This reproducible resource is ideal for teaching jazz rhythms and sight-reading. To perform these exercises, students will need to be able to read all of the notes in first position on all six strings. The first six studies are in the key of C major and A minor with no sharps or flats in the key signature. The keys get gradually harder, adding one sharp or one flat up to two flats and three sharps. Rhythms are syncopated. The studies may also be performed in fifth position. These studies are ideal for weekly or biweekly playing tests. Chord symbols are provided with each exercise to play as a duet. Ideal for Year 2 students.
