Bombasto

From the arranger: There is a personal reason why I transcribed this particular march. Back in the late 1960s, competition for high school marching bands in Southern California consisted only in street parades. The prevailing organization (the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, or SCSBOA) through its adjudicators, judged a marching band both by how it marched in a parade, and by how much of a symphonic sound they can generate from the street. Drum majors, majorettes, signs and flag corps were also judged, but the band and its competition march was the focal point. In the fall of 1967, I was a sophomore at East Bakersfield High School, and our competition march was Bombasto.
