Concertante "Dragon Court" was begun as a commission from the Nashua Flute Choir with backing from the Brannen Cooper Fund, and was subsequently expanded under the aegis of Bickford Brannen. The first performance took place in Nashua, New Hampshire on May 12, 2007, under the direction of Eileen Yarrison. The concertante is in 3 movements and features a different number of soloists in each movement, accompanied by a larger ensemble of regular, alto, bass, and optional contrabass flutes.
