Crown of Aragon is a haunting, but stately Pavanne in the Renaissance style. Young students will experience ABA style in the keys of D minor and F Major, but only low-two finger patterns are used throughout. The middle section features lower string melodies on the C string for viola and cello, moving briefly into third position in the bass. Alternating between arco and pizzicato not only helps with dynamic contrast, but creates a unique texture when accompanied with the optional triangle and hand drum.
