Two African-American spirituals combine into a rich work that could be the surprise hit of the concert!  Little David Play on Your Harp and Michael Row the Boat Ashore are creatively joined together in a way that nicely shows what your string players are capable of, easy syncopations, pizzicatto, and thick, lush harmonies.  The rhythmic, syncopated David contrasts with the lyrical Michael; the two unite at the end to finish the arrangement.
