Dewey
Dewey was written in homage to the late, great saxophonist Dewey Redman, although it is not a tenor solo feature. A fantastic arrangement by New Orleans saxophonist and educator Michael Jenner, it features a beautiful rubato melody that is reminiscent of a Charlie Haden tune or a timeless folk melody. A melodic and singable sax soli brings even more warmth and depth to this chart with its easy-blowing changes allowing every player to improvise. The tune and chart both exude personality and character and will become a player and audience favorite.
